No. Our staff arrange tours and excursions once you are here, and that is usually the better way to do it — you can pick days around the weather and around how much you actually feel like moving.
What most guests do
- Floyd’s Pelican Bar — a driftwood bar on stilts on a sandbar out at sea, reached only by boat. The most memorable thing in the area. Our staff arrange the boat locally. Read our guide.
- Black River Safari — mangrove channels with crocodiles and birdlife, about an hour east. Read our guide.
- YS Falls — seven waterfalls with natural pools, a rope swing and a zip line.
- Lovers Leap — a 1,700-foot cliff with a lighthouse and a view along the whole coast.
- Appleton Estate — the rum distillery, a scenic drive inland.
Getting there
Our PPV-certified driver is available for excursions and airport transfers at additional cost. Ask on arrival and we will sort the day out.
The one exception
If you are visiting during the Calabash International Literary Festival, or over Christmas and New Year, the area gets genuinely busy. Mention it before you travel and we will plan around it.
