Butterfly Hill

Butterfly Hill is in Billy’s Bay, Treasure Beach, on Jamaica’s south coast. From Sangster International (MBJ) in Montego Bay the drive is roughly 2.5 to 3 hours. From Kingston (KIN) it is a similar distance but a less scenic route.

Our private transfer

We arrange airport collection with our own PPV-certified driver. He meets you inside the terminal, handles luggage, and brings you directly to the villa. Send us your flight details before you travel and we will confirm the rate. The same driver is available during your stay for tours and the return trip.

Most guests choose this, and there is a practical reason beyond convenience: the final stretch of road into Billy’s Bay is rural and unlit. Arriving after dark with someone who knows the way is materially easier than navigating it yourself.

Driving yourself

Perfectly possible. Jamaica drives on the left. The main route from Montego Bay runs inland through Santa Cruz and down to the coast.

Roads vary. Highways are good; rural roads have potholes, blind bends and occasional livestock. Allow more time than a map suggests, and try not to arrive after dark on your first trip. There is free parking at the villa.

Route taxis

The cheapest option and how most Jamaicans travel, but it involves several changes and is not practical with luggage, children, or after a long flight.

Timing your flight

Because of the transfer length, an early or midday arrival makes a real difference. Landing at 6pm means reaching the villa around 9pm on unlit roads. A midday landing means arriving in daylight with time to swim before dinner.
